Distribution transformers is the transformer that steps the final voltage down that goes to the power lines on the distribution poles outside of your home so you are able to have electricity. However, if this transformer is on the utility pole the name for this transformer is pole-mount transformers. Some of these particular transformers have ground level. If this is the case they are generally in a steel case that is locked that is placed on a cement slab. This means they are called pad-mount transformers.
Another type of transformer is the Cast-resin power transformers.  This is an epoxy resin that the windings are encased in. This type of transformer is a simple installation because it is dry, it does not need cooling oil, and it is safe to install indoors without a fireproof vault. The reason a Cast-resin power transformer is used is because the windings is protected by the epoxy from corrosion and dust by the epoxy. However, this type of transformer is not as flexible as others because it comes in sizes that are fixed and this can make it a little more costly than others if customized features (voltage, turns ratio, taps) are required.

This transformer is mounted directly LV and MV equipment. This transformers applications are for indoors (Midel filled) or outdoors. The ratings for the oilfield transformer are 15kVA -25MVA and the voltages go up to 138kV. There are distribution applications and substation applications.
